I have already walked two miles,
I’m still walking,
From lane to lane and path to path,
Gazing at people around,
And their weird behaviors.
Merrily as I go about the place,
I look for a friend in everyone,
There goes a beautiful charming girl,
But the beauty on her face is not in her heart.
An old man passes by,
He seems to be protective and caring,
But he stays in his own world and doesn’t look beyond.
And then I see a jolly little boy,
He must be around 5 years or so with an angelic mind,
But he is too small to understand.
Wow! Look who it is,
A handsome, cool and young guy,
My heart skipped a beat,
But he’s just a playboy and flirting is all that’s on his mind.
I was just about to quit my attempt,
And that’s when I saw someone.
A girl was walking slowly,
She was insecure and shy,
Her head was towards the ground and steps were small.
We got closer, still closer,
And as we were about to cross each other,
She looked up,
Our eyes met for a sudden moment.
Her eyes were like open doors,
I seeped through which.
Her life was an open book,
I loved reading.
She was simple but insecure,
Her face wasn’t all the more beautiful,
But her heart was ravishing and chaste.
She had immense love for her friends,
But friends she doesn’t have.
She cared for her near and dear ones,
And considered every promise even at the extreme circumstances,
Admirable, was her,
Devotion and dedication,
To the institute called friendship.
And then we kept meeting,
Day after day,
At the same place,
Eventually we initiated to talk,
And the course was endless.
We are real good friends now.
One day I walked this lane alone,
Today we both walk together,
And that’s how things changed after that sudden moment.
