Professionally, a writer (Screenplays and Film Dialogues), Film Director, and Theatre-Worker (Bit-part actor too).

For people Familiar with Indian Entertainment scene here's also a small Career Profile.

I’ve been involved on the English Drama scene since 1989, and have been actively a part of Motley (Naseeruddin Shah’s Theatre group) since 1991, was Production Manager for Prithvi Players (though now defunct was then P. T’s in-house repertory company) between 92-93.

In 1993, I joined Crest Communications as Assistant Director, where I worked essentially on Ad films including Quick Gun Murugun, and modeled for TV Morons for Channel [V], where I was the Moron ;o) Because of my work Shyam (The insomniacal Genius and Slave Driver) promoted me to Creative Coordinator, but I couldn’t stand the office politics and to retain my sanity, I fled from the company. This move prompted me to work as free lance E.P. for many an Ad Film Production House including (I’m doing some more name dropping here ;o) John Mathew Mathan’s (of Sarfarosh Fame) Filmatt.

From Adverts I graduated on to Feature films and in 96-97 I worked with Sai Paranjpye as Chief Assistant Director on “Saaz” (*ing Shabana Azmi, Aruna Irani ( Zakir Hussain), where I also did a small role.

In 97 I was recruited to Head of Production ‘In-House Productions’ and instrumental for getting online programmes like Star Yaar Kalaakar and Movers and Shakers. Office politics once again drove me to seek a Shell, so I upped and ran, like that proverbial chicken… ;o)

Branching out in to writing was a natural corollary of this, I paired up with Abbas Tyrewala to write many an episode for television (these include 3 Saturday Suspenses, Kagaar, Sansani, 1 X Zone Episode, Saboot, 3 countdown shows etc etc.).

I’ve also since then worked with Sai (from Sep 2000 till as late as January this year) as Associate Director on 3 children’s films.

Currently I’m in the process of finishing the post production for my first independent (Procucer/Director… Me!!!) short film for CFSI.

And on the Theatre Scene, I am Lighting Engineer (while also doing two Cameos) for “Manto Ismat Hazir Hain” and “Sufaid Jhooth Kaali Salwaar”, directed by Nasseer.

Phew… How many names have I dropped…;o?
